Waldhaus

Waldhaus Sils St Moritz

Waldhaus Sils – a family affair since 1908, is run by the fifth & fourth generations of Dietrich and Kienberger.

As rich in history as it is in service quality and facilities, the 5 star Waldhaus Sils was built just over a century ago entirely from materials arriving on horsecarts from the train stations of St moritz and Chiavenna. The romantic, castle-like exterior designed by Karl Koller (1873-1946), one of the foremost Swiss hotel architects of the time, hid amazingly modern concepts and ideas.

It’s a philosophy which continues to this day, because although the Waldhaus Sils is proud to have stayed within its original physical dimensions in order to maintain high personal service standards, it has continually evolved from within, adding its wonderful swimming pool and spa, underground parking, and nearly quadrupling the number of guest bathrooms from 40 on opening to 150 today! But increasingly the Waldhaus Sils’ priorities have shifted from merely modernising the hotel, to restoring its vintage charms and character to their 1908 glory. no expense has been spared in a careful restoration of the bar, the Arvenstube restaurant and the reading room.

Sils has its own mid-sized ski area and the Waldhaus operates a free shuttle to the slopes. A lift pass for the full Engadin pass, including the skiing of St moritz, is also available, with a ski bus service to the slopes.
