You don’t need to spend a fortune or travel far to get on the slopes this summer as The Snow Centre at Hemel Hempstead, north of London is offering two full hours on the slopes for a family of up to six people for £69 (www.thesnowcentre.com). The price even includes free soft drinks for all after your session.
Whether torrential rain or hot sun outside, regular snow falls indoors and carefully groomed slopes ensure excellent skiing or snowboarding all year round at The Snow Centre which has a 160m long slopes serviced by two drag lifts as well as the UK’s largest indoor real snow nursery slope and a licensed Alpine-style café bar where you can buy drinks, snacks or a full meal.
Other summer offers include 50% off beginners lessons for adults (£24 for a 90 minute lesson) and a family lesson and sledge package which includes a one hour lesson for the whole family, 30 minutes sledging and free soft drinks all round for £99.
If you want to improve your technique then book a lift pass between 10am and 4pm on Mondays or Tuesdays and there will be instructors on hand to give you free hints and tips to improve your style.
Skis, snowboards, boots and helmets are all included in the entrance cost and clothing is available to hire for £6.50.
The closest real snow to the centre of London, The Snow Centre is just off the M25 making it easily accessible from the South East and the M4 corridor.
